Seeking Teaching Artists for Art Camp 2020
Do you have a creative practice you'd like to share with us at Art Camp this year? We're seeking artists, makers, and seekers who feel led to share pieces of their personal practice in order to assist participants at Art Camp in opening up their creative spirits. Ways to imagine how a shared practice could look:
- It opens up space for the unknown, listening, creative play, discovery
- It gets you out of your head and into your flow
- It connects you with others' truths through a creative medium
- It connects you to your own divinity while making
- It looks like a workshop, conversation, collaborative project, or other group activity
Teaching artists will have one to two hours during the weekend to share their practice with a small section of the group (4-8) or the whole group (15-25), depending on what fits. Examples of possible practices to share could include a drawing game for encouraging play and collaboration, creating an environment for movement as prayer, or teaching a group singing practice grounded in a spiritual intention.
If you're unsure if your idea is too wacky or vague or if it will fit at Art Camp, apply anyway! Maggie is excited to hear about your vision and what you need to make it possible, and can give feedback to hone it to best fit everyone's needs at Art Camp. Send questions here.
Teaching artists should be comfortable facilitating a space that is welcoming and accessible for all. All types of creative folk are encouraged to apply, with non-visual artists (writers, dancers, musicians...) especially needed. No formal teaching experience necessary. Teaching artists will receive a stipend for their work and attend Art Camp for free.
